The Club’s Equity Policy may be amended from time to time by the Club. A copy of the latest Equity Policy can be found on the Club’s website (www.chilternrugby.com).
The Club’s Equity Policy
• the Club is committed to ensuring that equity is exercised across all aspects of its operation and acknowledges and adopts the following Sport England definition of sports equity:
Sports equity is about fairness in sport, equality of access, recognising inequalities and taking steps to address them. It is about changing the culture and structure of sport to ensure it becomes equally accessible to everyone in society.
The Club:
• respects the rights, dignity and worth of every person and aims to treat them equally within the context of rugby regardless of their age, ability, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religious belief or social/economic status.
• acknowledges the importance of affording equity, equal opportunity and fair treatment to every person.
• is committed to every person having the right to enjoy rugby in an environment free from the threat of intimidation, harassment or abuse.
“Every person” includes, but is not limited to, Club members, players, officials, spectators, volunteer helpers, employees and visitors.
All Club members and any children that they may have who play in the Club’s youth sections have a responsibility to oppose discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of behaviour and equality of opportunity within the Club and within the sport of rugby.
