The coaches were effusive in their praise of our young superstars on their return to proper training yesterday. The standard of performance given the long lock-down and summer lay-off was quite stunning and this was exemplified by the fantastic skills, both attack and defence, in the final tag game.
We were also delighted to formally welcome our new players for the 2020/21 season; Armaan, Leo, Thor, Tom & Trey. We look forward to getting to know you better over the coming months.
Our players of the week were Finlay & Zak (excellent tackling technique) and Thomas (superb support running). Well done to you all!
Of course, the main change for 2020/21 is the instigation of contact at U9 and it is our prime responsibility as a coaching team to ensure this is introduced in a safe and enjoyable way along with following the club and RFU guidance for COVID-19. We hope that you will bear with us until we have more latitude in running full contact sessions and continue to help us by maintaining social distancing and bringing your hand sanitizer on Sundays.
A massive "thank you" to the parents that helped out with car parking this week. With the revised training schedule in place due to COVID-19 there will be plenty of opportunity to get involved in this rewarding activity so please do not worry of you missed out this week!
Please note that Matt Allen will be running his excellent half term rugby camp on 27 October (AM). If you would like to book a place please email him on matthewallen19@hotmail.co.uk
We look forward to seeing you all next Sunday at 1030.
